REECOL

Within REECOL project – a drone equipped with a multispectral camera has just been purchased by KOMAG. This drone allows to monitor the condition of green areas, including the calculation of the Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) being a crucial tool in monitoring of the health of plants and ecosystems. Currently, a team from the Institute’s Laboratory for Modelling Methods and Ergonomics are conducting tests on the drone and preparing themselves for the field operations.

The REECOL partners took part in kick-off meeting hosted by the project coordinator POLTEGOR, on the 5th and 6th of October 2023.
There were both in-person and online participants. All the main aspects regarding the project were discussed. Decisions and arrangaments regarding the upcoming work were made. An expceptional point of the meeting was an online presentation given by the EC Project Officer who discussed the most important issues regarding RFCS projects.

A special session regarding the REECOL project took place on 03.10.2023, during XXVII seminar “Problems of operation, maintenance and repair of machinery used in surface mining” held in Sloup in Bohemia, Czechia. The event was a great occation to reach the project stakeholders. VUHU (being the organizer), North Bohemian Mines, Vršany Coal Company, Vršanská uhelná, VŠB- College of Mining) participated.

On the 5th and 6th of October 2023, the project partners will meet at the 1st project meeting, hosted by the coordinator POLTEGOR.
Discussions and arrangements regarding the work to be done in the project will take place.

An excursion of students of the Faculty of Natural Environment of the Jan Evangelista Purkyně University in Ústí nad Labem took place at the Radovesice spoil heap. Students visited selected reclaimed areas and areas left to natural succession, and the selection of the site as a case area within the REECOL project was explained.
